FSSAI Notifies Food Businesses Regarding Supreme Court Order on Misleading Advertisements

The FSSAI recently issued a notification to food companies following the Supreme Court ruling on misleading advertisements and has requested them to ascertain that their marketing claims are based on evidence and are true. It not only cautioned them regarding the threat of legal action but also underlined the pertinence of transparency in any nutrient and health-based claims. In Recently, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issued a notice to food firms all over the country against misleading advertisement in compliance with the Supreme Court’s recent judgment on the issue. Companies will have to ensure the truth in the statement supported by evidence, and the importance of telling the truth manifests itself when talking about food goods.
